In researching today's Criminal Brief about 4th of July stories, I stumbled upon a footnote that Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine published one by Rex Stout titled “Fourth of July Picnic” in EQMM Aug 1965.
That wasn't the first or last appearance of the story. It was originally published under a different title in the 9 July 1957 issue of Look magazine. It was subsequently published in a Rex Stout collection of four novellas titled And Four to Go. A couple of years ago, the story made it into the Century of Great Suspense Stories anthology edited by Jeffrey Deaver.

Wow! One story; four lives. It's like one of those Skyrocket fireworks that just keeps bursting and bursting, spreading spangled colors in ever-larger circles across the sky. (Please excuse the 4th of July imagery; I just couldn't help myself.) edited by Dixon on 7/4/2010

Not to mention Jeff added three more stories to the list, including one by Ellery Queen and another by Ed Hoch!
What to go, Jeff!
